July 2020 Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians, Students and Community Members,

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.  The Complex
Area Superintendent approved the school's Model C program
and the BOE accepted the model last Thursday. Schools were
given three models to select from and Kalani elementary
schools selected Model C, a hybrid model.  Models selected
were dependent on the size of the facilities and the staffing at
each school.

During the summer, safety procedures were established.
Disinfectant supplies and gloves were ordered.  Our school also
ordered ozone water equipment which kills viruses, including
Covid-19 and bacteria, on contact. Desks have been moved 6 feet apart,
shields received and plexiglass ordered were received.  Teachers
and staff will wear facemasks.  Students will need to wear masks
brought from home.

Liholiho will re-open for the 2020-21 SY for 8 days, to assess our
students academic and social/emotional needs.  The 8 "half days" for
students will be from August 4-7 and from August 11-14.
Students will be served lunch on the days they are attending
school.  Monday, August 10 will be a Professional Development day for
teachers and our students will not come to school.

Teachers are placing students in Group "A" or Group "B" during the
first 8 days of school and will inform parents/guardians which
group their child is in.  Kindergarten has a similar schedule
that will be sent to their parents.

As of August 17, students in Grades K, 1, 2, 5 will come to
school daily.  Students in Grades 3 & 4 will be on a rotational
schedule.

Parents/guardians have limited access to the school, thus
parents must drop off their child(ren) from the following areas on a
rotational drop off/pick up schedule to be sent home by the
school and teachers if modifications are deemed necessary.
Kindly adhere to the schedule below:
