Students will return to school in person daily on the following dates: April 5-Grs. K-2,  April 12-Gr. 3,  April 19-Gr. 4 & April 26-Gr. 5  Masks must be worn by students!

December 2020 Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians, Students and Community Members,
 
     The Kalani Elementary Schools have, or in the process of opening the schools to Grades 1 & 2 students in January, 2021, the beginning of 3rd quarter.  Grade 1 is scheduled to return in person on campus January 11th and Grade 2 is scheduled to return in person on campus on January 19th Kindergarten students have been successfully attending in person on campus classes since November 16th.  Students will be placed on an "A" or "B" schedule to accommodate the 6' spacing in classrooms. Parents were or will be sent home a letter via email to indicate their choice of one of the following:
 
*In Person Face to Face on campus with the homeroom teacher.
*Full Distance Learning (FDL) with Ms. Imanaka & Mr. Nakashima
**Note:   Home School is another option.  Students withdraw from Liholiho for home school and must re-register to return to the school.  Forms may be downloaded from the DOE site.
 
     Grades 3, 4 & 5 parents/guardians will also be receiving a letter after Winter Break, indicating their choice. Students in upper grades are anticipated to return in early to the middle of February.  
 
     The Re-Opening of Schools handbook is posted on this website.  Click on the section under News and Annoucements.  Schools follow the re-opening guidelines and area metrics established by the Department of Health, CDC and Department of Education.  
 
    .All children must wear a mask, wash hands counting to 20 and stay 6' apart .  Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed on campus, unless conducting school business in the office.  All visitors and students have their temperatures checked upon arriving on campus.  Stay home if you or your child is sick to mitigate the spread of any respiratory illness.
